Saint Ursula High School is abuzz with excitement as it introduces a captivating addition to its
extracurricular lineup —the Cheerleading Club— for the new school year.

This compelling club is ready to uplift the entire school’s spirit and bring a new and strong sense of community among the students. One of the proud members, Ale, shares some words and thoughts about this exciting new journey.Ale was first introduced to cheerleading in junior high school. There, she discovered how wonderful and joyous it was, being part of a team that brought enthusiasm to events but at the same time promoted being healthy and fit. This was unfortunately cut short due to the covid pandemic and Ale was forced to halt her journey with cheerleading. It is understandable how excited Ale became when she had the opportunity to rejoin cheerleading after Saint Ursula High School opened its registration.“I think the point of cheerleading is to uplift people’s spirits and bring happiness to their lives. Through it, people can express themselves and form themselves to become a better version of themselves, especially by maintaining good health through exercise and learning how to work as a team,” Ale said enthusiastically. She also noted how the teamwork and camaraderie were already evident as she recounted their first meeting, where they had the chance to introduce themselves, know more about each other, and form team spirit. The impact that this club will have on the school’s spirit and community is expected to be new and profound. Ale shared, “Cheerleading in general has only brought positive messages and vibes that spreads positivity and enthusiasm. Not only that, it also raises the spirit of hard work and unity, where it’s very important especially when having to work together through hard training to reach our goals.”Looking ahead, the club's future hopes are high and far. “We want to participate in several competitions
and make Saint Ursula High School proud.” Ale said with full conviction. “Outside of winning, we just hope to get invaluable experiences and lessons from the upcoming events.”
For those considering joining the Cheerleading Club next year, don’t be fret! Ale here has a compelling case. “Cheerleading has abundant benefits — ranging from gaining experience and enhancing your CV for university applications to bringing positivity in your life as a student. It’s also a chance to have fun and exercise as a team. How beneficial is that?”As Ale and her team members continue to radiate positivity and energy through their performances, the club’s legacy is expected to live on and leave a lasting impact on the school’s culture with their energetic leaps, flips, and cheers, making it a dynamic force to be reckoned with on and off the field.
